Psalm 91:1–2 (NKJV): He who dwells in the secret place of the Most HighShall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”

Dwelling—a concept rich with spiritual significance—invites us to consider where we abide, where our thoughts find a home, and where our hope rests. Let’s explore this profound idea:

Physical Dwelling:

In its simplest form, dwelling refers to where we live, our earthly...

Tell No One

Consider the phrase ‘Tell no one.’ It prompts us to ponder: When should we share God’s wondrous deeds? After all, aren’t we instructed to preach the kingdom of God?

Let’s delve into the complete verse from Mark 9:9:

As they were coming down from the mountain, He gave them orders not to relate to anyone what they had seen, until the Son of Man rose from the dead.’

This scripture refers to the transfiguration—a moment when Peter, James, and John witnessed Jesus standing, rad

Watch and Pray

Spiritual watchmen are those who remain alert, perceiving both the workings of God and the attacks of the enemy. Their role extends beyond mere observation; they actively sound the alarm to warn others of impending danger or temptation.

In Matthew 26:36-38, Jesus instructed His disciples to “stay here and watch with me.” Perhaps He foresaw that they would flee when He was arrested. By urging them to watch and pray, Jesus encouraged them to discern what might seem counterint

Perseverance

by: Rev. James Smith

Perseverance isn't about teetering on the edge, fearing disaster. Oswald Chambers advises against clinging out of fear, emphasizing deliberate work with confidence in God's unwavering strength (Feb 22). The fear lies not in personal failure but in the concern that our understanding of God's will might be thwarted. Perseverance, then, is rooted in the belief that our hero, God, will not fail us.“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? He...

Am I my brothers Keeper?

by: Rev. James Smith

“Noe of us lives to himself “(Romans 14:7).

Am I responsible for my brother? Absolutely. Our lives are interconnected; we don't live in isolation. Oswald Chambers underscores that our actions impact others. Whether sitting together in heavenly places or acknowledging shared suffering, we are part of a larger whole. As the body of Christ, we're not solitary islands; our connections extend beyond fellow believers to those God intentionally places in our lives. Chambers challe

May He Sanctify Us

by: Rev. James Smith

The cost of Sanctification “May the God of peace himself sanctify you completely” (1 Thes 5:23).Sanctification is a change in the way we live. Once we lived for ourselves, but now through sanctification, we live for God alone. The process of sanctification is not easy. We are to live in the world, but not of the world, and this can be a very difficult task. The reason being is that since we live in the world, we have dealings with it. Some way we must learn to live and man...

Little Miracles

“Yet we never realize that all the time God is at work, in our every day events, and then the people around us. If we will only obey, and do the task that he has placed closest to us, we will see him. One of the most amazing revelations of God comes to us when we learn that it is in the everyday things of life that we realize that magnificent Jesus Christ” (Chambers Jan 7th)

Do we see God’s hand in the little things? I believe we all receive little miracles because Christ i

Are you ready to be poured out as an offering?

by: Rev. James Smith

”if I am being poured out as a drink, offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all“ (Philippians 2:17).

Oswald Chambers has some good insight for February 5th in his devotional. Being poured out as an offering is not a glamours picture of ministry. It is emptying of our lives for the sake of others. It is less of us, that there may be more for others.

Chambers uses the illustration of are we willing to be a mere drop in the bucket,

I did it God’s Way

Like the Frank Sinatra, we do not want to come to The end of our life, and say that we did it my way. This song by Sinatra is the antithesis of what the Christian life is all about. Jesus disciples where Zealous to do God‘s work, but not in the same spirit.

Luke 9:54–55 (NASB95): When His disciples James and John saw this, they said, “Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them?” But He turned and rebuked them, [and said, “You do not kn

Decision to Follow Christ

I’ve decided to start reading my utmost for his highest a year-long devotional written along time ago by Oswald Chambers. I want to share a selection of text that was found in today’s reading. It’s about making the decision to follow Christ.

“ Whether it means life or death, it makes no difference! Paul was determined that nothing would stop him from doing exactly what God wanted. But before we choose to follow, God‘s will, a Crisis must develop in our lives. This happens b

Watchman Née “Every Loaf in the Lord’s Hand is Broken by Him”

Every Loaf in the Lord’s Hand is Broken by Him

When I first began to work for the Lord, I went one day to visit an elderly sister, Miss Barber. We sat in the living room together. She began to ask me, "Is your intention in giving yourself to serve God something that God wants? What does the Lord want you to do?" I answered, "He wants me to serve Him." She then asked, "What if the Lord does not want you to work for Him?" I answered, "He surely wants me to work for Him. I kn

Break into our lives (18th Day of Advent)

by: Rev. James Smith

One of the scriptures in our readings today on the 18th day of advent is romans chapter 12, verse 16, which says, do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. This is very important to us during this advent season, because Jesus was born, not in the limelight of those who are great in this world, but he was born of lowest state, and was noticed by Shepherds. He wasn’t revealed to great people, but the simple people. If we t

On the 12th day of Advent, the meditation looks at how the religious system in Jerusalem in the temple was working like clockwork. Everything was working according to plan. There was nothing new happening just the daily ritual that was done over and over again however, in this reading, it goes on to notice that The priest were divided into 24 divisions, and they rotated on the timetable just like years in a Swiss watch. What happened each day was what was expected to happe

Look Back Day 9 of Advent

Isaiah prophecies about Jesus coming as a servant, a suffering servant at that. He has given us the example to follow. Here is an exert of the medication from the 9th day of Advent.

”Service is part of his very nature. His example of servant hood transcends any that has ever been seen before or since. Thus, in calling us to become like him, he calls us to join him in a lifestyle of service and sacrifice. Such service and sacrifice is not to be done in spite of your position

First Day of Advent

First day of Advent!

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10).

This is one of the scriptures from “25 Days of Advent” (Boa and Turner 2012, 2).

We were not his creation to fulfill our wants and desires . We were created in image of God for good works.

The word used for works has a reference to working in agriculture. Jesus said the fields are ripe for harvest. Our good wor
