Spiritual watchmen are those who remain alert, perceiving both the workings of God and the attacks of the enemy. Their role extends beyond mere observation; they actively sound the alarm to warn others of impending danger or temptation.

In Matthew 26:36-38, Jesus instructed His disciples to “stay here and watch with me.” Perhaps He foresaw that they would flee when He was arrested. By urging them to watch and pray, Jesus encouraged them to discern what might seem counterintuitive—His arrest as part of God’s plan.

As believers, we too must be vigilant. We watch and pray to stay attuned to the spiritual climate, adjusting our focus to Christ’s movements as He carries out God’s will, rather than our own.
