Perseverance isn't about teetering on the edge, fearing disaster. Oswald Chambers advises against clinging out of fear, emphasizing deliberate work with confidence in God's unwavering strength (Feb 22). The fear lies not in personal failure but in the concern that our understanding of God's will might be thwarted. Perseverance, then, is rooted in the belief that our hero, God, will not fail us.

“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? He who indeed did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him graciously give us all things?” (Romans 8:31-32)

In the context of this scripture, it highlights God's predestination for us. Even amid challenges, it reveals that God is on our side, having intricately planned our lives. He is aware of the stresses, fatigue, and joys we will encounter.

“Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be” (Ps 139:16).

In moments of heightened pressure, let us demonstrate perseverance.
